Centro de Saúde do Kilamba Kiaxi

The health centre is conceived to perform two distinct activities: treatments/consultations and hospitalization. This distinction is created formally; the building consists of two perpendicular forms that are juxtaposed where their ends intersect.

The treatment and consultation services are located in the two-storey volume, which, by its shape and size, is the more important of the two volumes. Although they have separate entrances, the services are connected internally. The inpatient service is located solely in the single-storey volume, on which rests the other volume, unifying them into one building.
