VRELU

The Outer Regional Variant to Lubango (VRELU) has a length of 42 km, and runs along the south side to better serve the airport, the stadium and the main road to Ondjiva.
The variant starts on the road that connects Lubango to Namibe to the west. It crosses the road to Ondjiva that will serve the airport to the north, and also the stadium and city centre.

The route between intersections 1 and 2, on the south side, has a pronounced longitudinal slope due to it having to rise approximately 250 m in elevation.

This factor results in the layout in plan being sited to the south, thus moving away from the mountainous range where the Cristo Rei is located.
